In addition to her novels, Tsitsi Dangarembga has also written, directed, and produced a number of films. In My Father’s Village is a powerful short film about the inheritance of trauma that she produced in 2017. Tsitsi will introduce the film, discuss its creation with Dan Magaziner, and answer questions from the audience.

Dan Magaziner is Professor of History and African Studies at Yale. The author of two books, he is currently completing a biography of the South African artist and activist Omar Badsha.

All festival events are free and open to the public. Audience members must be vaccinated and boosted and should be prepared to show proof of vaccination. Masks will be required at most indoor events.
