Join us for the third annual “Freedom Futures” block party, a celebratory evening dedicated to honoring the life and legacy of Fred Hampton, two weeks after what would be his 77th birthday on August 30. This special event will feature powerful readings by acclaimed poet and 2025 Windham-Campbell Prize recipient Tongo Eisen-Martin, alongside other compelling voices, including New Haven Poet Laureate Sharmont Influence Little. Enjoy an evening of community, reflection, music, and food as we envision and discuss futures rooted in justice and liberation. Co-sponsored by Kulturally Lit, the Black Futures Institute, and Possible Futures, this gathering promises to be an inspiring tribute and a vital exchange.
