☆ Live from London: the 2019 Windham-Campbell Prizes (March 13!) ☆

Dear Reader,

We're thrilled to tell you that this year we'll be announcing the recipients of the Windham-Campbell Prizes LIVE, in an event hosted by Damian Barr at Stationers' Hall during the London Book Fair. The announcement will be livestreamed at windhamcampbell.org and on Facebook from 7:00 PM GMT/3:00 PM EST. (Publisher's Weekly has the whole scoop here.)

Meanwhile, Adina Hoffman has written a biography of the Hollywood screenwriter Ben Hecht, and will launch it at the Center for Jewish History in New York City on February 12.

André Alexis's new novel Days By Moonlight is finally out! We were pleased to host a lunch for him in New York last month with critics and editors, who were excited to catch up on his ambitious “quincunx” project.

John Keene (who also won a MacArthur Fellowship last year!) will take part in a panel at the Montclair Literary Festival with National Book Critics Circle president Kate Tuttle and Story Prize founder Larry Dark.  John, Kate, and Larry will discuss the significance of literary prizes and whether they can change a writer's career … we certainly think so!

With anticipation,

Your friends at the Windham-Campbell Prizes
