Close Looking: Tessa Hadley on Gwen John
Tuesday, September 20
Novelist Tessa Hadley discusses the work of Gwen John, a Welsh artist best known for her single-figure studies of women and children. With several of John’s paintings on display, Hadley will consider how the artist’s luminous, precise studies of atmosphere and emotion intersect with her own aesthetic vision. Moderated by Emily Harburg '18.
Co-sponsored by the Yale Center for British Art.
